Two-time UW men's soccer captain and defender Aaron Hohlbein was selected by the Kansas City Wizards Thursday with the third pick in the 2007 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft.
The defender from Middleton, Wis., was named a third-team NSCAA All-American as well as a first-team All-Great Lakes selection after leading the Badgers to within one game of the Big Ten regular season title last fall.
Hohlbein leaves Wisconsin as one of the most decorated players in school history. He was a four-time All-Big Ten selection, including first-team laurels in 2005 and 2006.
The Kansas City Wizards play in the Eastern Conference of the MLS. Last season, Kansas City finished one game out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the east. The Wizards won the MLS title in 2000.
