A Minnesota man jailed on a high profile Madison homicide attempted suicide in the Dane County Jail. This morning at around 5:30, a 20 year old man was found in the shower by another inmate, attempting to hang himself with his jail issued pants. The sheriff's department can't name names, but says the inmate is from Stillwater, Minnesota and is awaiting trial on first degree murder. Adam Peterson , being held in the death of Joel Marino, is the only inmate fitting that description. By the time a deputy got to Peterson this morning, he was conscious and alert. Peterson, who's been housed in a special needs part of the jail, made a brief trip to the hospital, but is back in jail in segregation under suicide watch. Peterson was arrested this spring, when DNA evidence linked him to Marino's murder, which occurred at the end of January.
