Horizon League LogoThe Green Bay Phoenix and Milwaukee Panthers have secured the top-two seeds in next week’s Horizon League women’s basketball tournament with double-byes into the semi-finals.

Milwaukee (18-10, 12-5 Horizon League) nailed down the number-two seed with a 98-95 win at Oakland on Thursday night.  Jenny Lindner and Steph Kostowicz each scored 32 points for the Panthers, who improved by six places in the standings from one year ago.

Green Bay had already locked up the top-seed in the tournament.  The Phoenix won their ninth straight game after a 74-58 victory at Oakland.

Allie LeClaire scored 16-points and Jessica Lindstrom added 15-points for Green Bay (26-3, 16-1).

The Phoenix and Panthers wrap up regular season league play on Saturday with the Horizon League tournament starting next Thursday in Green Bay.
