A Howard man is the winner of last week's $29 million Powerball jackpot. Steve Peot, a truck driver for the past 25 years, claimed his prize on Tuesday.

Wisconsin Lottery spokesman Andrew Bohaig says Peot has been an occasional ticket buyer in the past, typically when larger jackpots are involved. Bohaig says the winning ticket purchase was a whim.

Peot bought the winning ticket at the De Pere Superstore. Bohaig says he chose the lump sum payment, worth $13.7 million. After taxes, Peot will receive more than $9.3 million.

Bohaig says Peot is contributing to a good streak for Powerball players in the state, winning the second jackpot in 2007. The win also comes less than a year after the state's record Powerball win of $208 million.

Peot is married with two teenage children and a third child is on the way.
