A 44-year-old Ripon man suspected of beating his wife to death with a cinder block has been charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.
Kevin Moore appeared without a lawyer in Fond du Lac County court for his initial hearing Wednesday morning. He's accused of killing 43-year-old Dawn Moore at their home early Monday morning. According to the criminal complaint he called police after finding her lying next to their driveway and attempting to resuscitate her. District Attorney Tom Storm says there were discrepancies in what Moore told police, and that Dawn Moore died from being struck in the head by a cinder block.
Dawn Moore was pronounced dead at Ripon Medical Center, but it's believed she died closer to 5:30 that morning at the Moore home. Kevin Moore did not place the 9-1-1 call until 7:41 a.m. A neighbor who was awakened that morning heard a woman screaming and the words, "killing me." D.A. Storm says it's a tragedy for the whole family including the Moore's 4-year-old son.
Bond was set at $750-thousand dollars. Moore's preliminary hearing on the charge is scheduled for Friday, December 15th.
