A small postcard with your vital information could save your life in an emergency.

AAA Wisconsin and local police officers say you can help save your own life after an accident by filling out a small postcard with vital information. Spokeswoman Pam Moen says the ICE or In Case of Emergency card puts first responders in touch with family or friends.

Moen says you should identify your car's make, year and model, the primary drivers and emergency contact information on the card. She says first responders are trained to look for the ICE card in your car's visor, center console or glove box. They're also trained to look for ICE information in your cell phone.

You can pick up free blank cards at any AAA office or police department and most major insurance agencies.
