A competitor in this weekend's Wisconsin Ironman hopes to break a record — and raise some money for a good cause along the way. The cause is to raise money for Trisomy, a chromosomal disorder which affects babies. The competitor is Michael Hennesey from San Antonio, who wants to break the record for number of completed Ironman events in a single year. "The present Guiness World record is 14," he says, adding that he's scheduled to do 20 this year, including his 13th Sunday in Madison. In fact, Hennesey was in Boston for an Ironman last week, and in British Columbia the week before. "I'm in the midst of doing seven Ironmans in a row right now," he says, "so it's kind of crazy."

Hennesey says he's been blessed with good speed and stamina — and a sense of humor. He runs every Ironman marathon wearing a cowboy hat.
