There are reports that Governor Jim Doyle has been contacted by the President-elect's transition team.

State Democratic Party Chairman Joe Wineke says it's not surprising at all, since Doyle and President-elect Barack Obama have a close and personal relationship. However, Wineke says Doyle is probably torn about any potential job offers.

The Governor has repeatedly said he's not seeking a position in Obama's cabinet, but has also said it would be hard to turn down an offer to serve.

There's speculation Doyle could be on Obama's short list for Attorney General. Before his election as Governor, Doyle was Wisconsin's Attorney General for 12 years.

Officials in the Governor's office have confirmed Doyle is out of the state on a personal trip that was planned before the election. However, they don't have any details about the trip. The Governor is expected to be back in Wisconsin on Monday.
