DATCP's Paul McGraw is not backing down from his request for Clark County District Attorney Darwin Zwieg to cite Amish farmers who don't comply with a law that requires livestock owners to register their property with the state.

The two have been in contact over the issue since November. At first, he requested Zwieg discuss the matter with Amish bishops…but implied the next course of action should be to charge the roughly 40 Amish farmers that have not complied.

Some old order Amish believe the requirement is the first in a five-step process that will eventually lead to the mandatory tagging of humans, which is often referred to as the "Mark of the Beast."

Zwieg has questioned if the rule could withstand a constitutional challenge, but in a memo dated June 27th, McGraw notes premise registration only requires that a number be assigned to the location where livestock are kept, not individual animals. He says such numbers are already assigned to Amish properties, such as fire numbers, addresses, and tax parcel numbers.

Zwieg says he's still mulling his options on what course of action to take.
