Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Brett Favre met for roughly 5 hours last night (Monday) and it's still not certain whether or not the Packers will allow Favre to practice this afternoon.
Favre was placed on the Packers active roster after being reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and various national reports said the Packers were going to give Favre the chance to compete for the starters job with Aaron Rodgers.
McCarthy was scheduled to hold a news conference last night at 8:15 to brief the media on the details of what came out of the meeting. However, that news conference was cancelled and is expected to be held later today. It's not certain whether or not Favre will be on the practice field at 2pm this afternoon.
Just speculation, but it looks like the Packers and continuing in their efforts to rid themselves of Brett Favre. Too much damage has been done in the war of words between Favre and Packers general manager Ted Thompson and I just can't see Favre setting foot on Lambeau Field in a regular season game again as a member of the Green Bay Packers.
This daily soap opera is getting old. There's hardly anything new to report. It's like a massive cloud hanging overhead. What comes next? Your guess is as good as mine. We'll find out more later today.
