Have state budget writers missed the boat, when it comes to funding renewable energy? One member of the Joint Finance Committee says "yes," and says rural Wisconsin will take the biggest hit for that failing. Senator Bob Jauch (D-Poplar), commented on JFC's decision two weeks ago to cut more than $30 million in renewables spending, proposed by Governor Jim Doyle. Jauch says that kind of investment could have helped rural districts like his, since biodiesel plants are going to begin to develop in Wisconsin, just as the ethanol industry has.
