UW-Milwaukee‘s Rob Jeter was named the Horizon League Coach of the Year on Monday.

Jeter led the Panthers to a Horizon League regular season co-championship.  The Panthers, who finished tied with Butler and Cleveland State, gained the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Horizon League Tournament based on tie-breakers.  That gives Milwaukee a bye all the way into the Conference Tournament semi-finals.  If the Panthers win there, they’ll host the championship game.

The Horizon League tournament starts tonight with opening round games.  The Green Bay Phoenix open up in Dayton, Ohio against the Wright State Raiders.  Wright State is 2-0 against the Phoenix this season, winning both games by a combined 5-points.
