Green Bay Packers suspended defensive lineman Johnny Jolly’s felony drug

case never did go to trial. Jolly’s attorney and the prosecutor in Houston reached an agreement that if completed successfully, would wipe away his felony drug charge.
Jolly has been suspended for one full season by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He could face further punishment under the NFL’s personal conduct policy now that the charges against him have been resolved.
As a condition, Jolly will have to serve 160 hours of community service, including making 10 speaking engagements in the Houston area on avoiding drug use.
Packers general manager Ted Thompson wouldn’t comment on Jolly’s potential future with the Packers, but offered the following comment when asked about Jolly’s suspension.
