A Crandon man will spend the next 11 and a half years in prison for molesting young children at his mother’s unlicensed child care center. A Forest County judge also ordered 39-year-old William Anderson to spend 12 years under extended supervision when he gets out, and to write apology letters to the victims and their families.
The center’s owner, 62-year-old Nancy Anderson, was previously put on two years’ probation on three counts of not having a state child care license. She struck a plea deal in which four charges of child neglect were dropped.
Prosecutors said Anderson’s mother was away running errands last year when her son had sexual contact with four children, between the ages of four and six. He was convicted of five felonies that included repeated child sex assault and four exposure counts. Another sex assault charge was dropped as part of a plea deal.
