A Dodge County judge has ordered probation for a man with a history of violent criminal activity, who sold crack cocaine to an undercover informant. The Beaver Dam Daily Citizen reports that Gary B. Campbell pled no contest to one felony count of Manufacturing or Delivering Cocaine in September. Four similar counts were dismissed and read into the record.

Campbell sold the informant drugs on five separate occasions last April at locations in Beaver Dam and Horicon. Campbell was on extended supervision at the time, having just completed a 10 year prison sentence for a 2006 conviction of homicide and hiding a corpse in Milwaukee County four months prior.

District Attorney Kurt Klomberg argued for a 15 year prison term, noting that the 37-year-old Campbell has been in and out of custody since the age of 12. Judge Joseph Sciascia gave Campbell five years probation with one year of jail time. If Campbell fails to successfully complete his probation, he will serve 16 years in prison.
