A member of the state Assembly will be moving over to the Senate, following an election victory Tuesday night in Wisconsin’s 33rd Senate District.
Republican Chris Kapenga (R-Delafield) easily won a special election for the seat vacated by former state Senator Paul Farrow, who stepped down last week to focus more on his new job as Waukesha county executive. Kapenga, who represented the 99th Assembly District for that past four years, said he is humbled by the victory and will continue working to look out for the taxpayers and the state’s bottom line.
Kapenga defeated Democrat Sherryll Shaddock in the race. Preliminary vote totals show him winning with about 72 percent of the vote, in they heavily-Republican district.
