A judge has formally charged a 36-year-old Portage County man with three counts of first degree intentional homicide in the deaths of his girlfriend and their two children.
Shane Kettner remains jailed on a $500,000 cash bond. His attorney has waived the time limits on when prosecutors have to make their case at a preliminary hearing.
Kettner is accused of killing his 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son, along with their mother. Portage County DA Tom Eagon calls it a disturbing case for the community, which officers won't soon forget.
A final autopsy on Christine Gollon will wait have to until a toxicology report comes back from the state crime lab. Eagon says medical examiner Scott Rifleman wants to be sure of everything first. Until that point, her death is listed as a 'complex homicidal fatality.'
Kettner faces life imprisonment if convicted.
