IMAGE: Bob Hague A message to young Obama backers in Wisconsin: register others to vote this fall. Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz was on hand Wednesday, as Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean rolled into town. Mayor Dave had a message to UW students and other young voters. “It's perfectly fine to support Barrack Obama and to believe in him, but if you don't vote for him, it's not going to make any difference at all,” Cieslewicz said, adding that a strong youth turnout could make the difference in Wisconsin come November. But Dean said voting for Barack Obama is only part of the equation this fall. “You get a 'D' for that, that's great, you pass the course,” Dean joked. “That's the minimum you can do. We need you to go out and work, and register people to vote and get them to the polls.”

Dean encouraged young people to “knock three times” as they go door to door to register Democrats, Republicans and independents, because the higher the turnout, the better the chances for an Obama win in November.
