Representative Bill Kramer (R-Waukesha) announces his intention to replace Representative Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) as Assembly GOP Majority Leader. Suder announced his resignation from the post in order to take a job in the Walker Administration working at the PSC.

Kramer is the current Speaker Pro Tem of the State Assembly and is serving Waukesha County in his fourth term.

Dean Knudson (R-Hudson) is also considering a run for the position.

Kramer would have to give up his job as speaker pro tem in order to run for Assembly Majority Leader. Rep. Tyler August (R-Lake Geneva) already has his eyes on that position.

Suder says he will not be endorsing any candidates in the leadership race or in the primary for any special election for the 69th district seat.
