Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy was named the NFL’s Rookie of the Year by
the Pro Football Writers of America. Today, Lacy was named to the Pro Bowl roster. Lacy replaces Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who is unable to participate due to injury.
Lacy set franchise rookie records this season for rushing yards (1,178), rushing TD’s (11) and rushing attempts (284) and tied the team’s rookie mark for 100-yard rushing games with four. Lacy led all NFL rookies and ranked No. 8 among all players in rushing yards and was No. 3 in the league among all players with his 11 rushing TD’s.
Lacy is the first Green Bay rookie running back to be selected to the Pro Bowl since John Brockington in 1971 and the first Packers RB to be named to the all-star game since Ahman Green in 2004.
