Sunday. Mike McCarthy called Lacy’s number on the first two offensive plays and he turned those opportunities into 10 and 37 yards.
In the end, Lacy rushed the ball 23 times for 120 yards, his first 100-yard rushing performance as a pro and the Packers beat the Baltimore Ravens 19-17. Last week, Lacy actually passed 100, then got tackled for a loss, dropping him back to 99 yards on the day.
In the fourth quarter, when the Packers were trying to run the clock out, Lacy took the ball on 3rd and 2 and gained four yards for a first down, insuring that the Ravens wouldn’t get their hands on the ball again.

The Packers lost wide receivers James Jones and Randall Cobb to injuries in the first half, which meant they needed to count on the run. The Ravens knew the Packers wanted to run the ball and they couldn’t stop it.
The Packers have now averaged 160.3 yards rushing a game over the last four games. Four games certainly isn’t a very large sample size, but the way the Packers have been running the football, even limited success will keep the head coach coming back for more.
