After trailing for the first time all season, the second-ranked Wisconsin Badger women’s hockey team rallied, scoring four goals in a span of 6 minutes and 58 seconds to knock off N0. 10 Minnesota Duluth, 6-2 on Saturday night at AMSOIL Arena.
Senior captain Blayre Turnbull and sophomore Sarah Nurse each tallied two goals to help the Badgers (4-0-0, 2-0-0 WCHA) complete the sweep of the Bulldogs (1-2-1, 0-2-0 WCHA).
The win also earned the Badgers a sweep in the two-game series. Wisconsin outscored Minnesota-Duluth 10-3 and outshot the Bulldogs 77-39.
UW has won seven of the past eight meetings between the two teams as the Badgers now lead the overall series 33-29-11.
Wisconsin hosts Ohio State next weekend at LaBahn Arena. Faceoff on Friday is set for 7 p.m., while Sunday’s game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
