A Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field generates about $12.3 million for the area economy. That’s the finding of an economic impact study on the franchise and Lambeau Field. About $8.2 million of that total is from visitor spending. When training camp and the year-round events in the atrium are taken into account, the team and the stadium have an economic impact of more than $280 million.
“Those numbers are very significant. The value of this study for me though is in looking at just those numbers that deal what is being brought into this community that otherwise would not exist if not for the Packers,” says Paul Jadin is the Executive Director of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
Brad Toll, head of the Greater Green Bay Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, says the figures are likely lower than normal because they were taken from last year, during the recession.
The study also found that the $295 million renovation generated over $106 million for the economy last year, and an additional 940 jobs.
