As the future of federal health care reforms remains uncertain, a state lawmaker is calling on Governor Scott Walker to return some early funding the state received for programs.
Republican state Senator Frank Lasee (R-Bellevue) wants the governor to return $49 million in Obama Care funding. He says the so-called “early innovator funds” contain health care exchanges that are internet sign-ups for Medicaid, which he believes should be done in face to face situations.
Lasee says the program requires much more reporting to the federal government, and also pushes more towards a government takeover of private insurance customers.
Lasee says it can’t be an accident that on one hand Wisconsin is saying it rejects Obama Care, while on the other is pushing toward it. He says the state is at risk until it returns the money.
