A state lawmaker wants Wisconsinites to make their voices heard on the benefits of SeniorCare.

An extension of the state’s popular prescription drug program through 2015 is moving closer to federal approval. Federal officials are currently holding a 30-day comment period, and state Representative Andy Jorgensen (D-Fort Atkinson) says participants should take advantage of that window to share what SeniorCare has done for them.

Jorgensen helped lead an effort last year to protect the program from state budget cuts. More than 14,000 signatures were on the Save SeniorCare petition, which the Fort Atkinson Democrat says how popular the program is in Wisconsin. He says those who signed the petition last year should take advantage of another opportunity to display how the program saves the state and taxpayers money.

Comments can be submitted through the Medicaid website. The comment period runs through November 8th.
