A move to derail the money train when it comes to police and firefighters, charged with behaving badly. State Senator Glen Grothman (R-West Bend) wants to stop paying officers, after they've been charged with a crime and recommended for firing.
Grothman cites the case of Madison officer Michael Grogan, who was convicted of breaking into someone's house and sleeping their hallway over three years ago, yet still draws a paycheck. Madison police chief Noble Wray has recommended Grogan be fired, but the police and fire commission has the final say.
