It's on after all — legislative leaders will meet today with a Bush administration official, to discuss the future of SeniorCare. Health and Human Services Secretary, Mike Leavitt, is in Milwaukee today, and has agreed to meet with Assembly Speaker Mike Huebsch and Senate Majority Leader Judy Robson.

Leavitt had initially said he would not have time to meet with Huebsch and Robson, but agreed to do so late Tuesday. Robson says they'll make the case that Wisconsin's own prescription drug program costs state taxpayers half of what Medicare Part-D would cost. Without an extension, SeniorCare will end on June 30th; which means the Wisconsin seniors enrolled in the program would likely have to transition to Part-D.
