Lincoln County is facing a second federal lawsuit in connection to the way it handled its child support enforcement program.

Former child support administrator David Haka filed the suit against both the county and the county board in federal court. According to the complaint, Haka says his termination from the county was retaliation for reporting that the county had over billed the federal government for its child support enforcement program, claims later confirmed by a state investigation and an independent audit. Haka also claims he was fired without just cause and due process. He wants the county to give him back pay with interest, to reinstate him, and to pay his court costs.

County administrative coordinator John Mulder declined comment for this report. A hearing has not yet been scheduled.
