A coalition of Wisconsin medical groups is urging patients to "List it, don't risk it."
Medications have become a common part of daily life, with people on prescriptions and over the counter drugs. One group is concerned people can't keep everything straight, and it could lead to medical problems due to drug interactions.
Dr. Kathy Leonhardt with Safe Care Wisconsin says patients need to think about making a list of everything they're taking and carrying it with them at all times in their wallet or purse.
Leonhardt says having a list with you can help keep your medications straight, and prevent potentially harmful or fatal interactions with other drugs. That's of particular concern if you're seeing multiple doctors, since they don't always communicate about what medication you are taking.
