The Milwaukee Brewers snapped their two-game losing skid Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over the San Diego Padres.

After struggling on offense with just 4-hits in each of the first two games of the series, the Brewers bounced back with nine hits for the night.  Carlos Gomez led the way with a 4-for-4 night at the plate including a pair of doubles and a pair of RBI.  Manager Ron Roenicke was happy seeing more offense but would still like to see more runs…

The mound was an all around highlight for the Brewers.  Kyle Lohse moved to 7-7 on the season allowing the 1-run in 7-innings of work.  He then gave way to John Axford who pitched a scoreless 8th inning.  Jim Henderson was back in the closer role and cashed in on his 11th save of the season.  Roenicke was thrilled with how his bullpen performed…

Milwaukee looks to earn a split of the 4-game series this afternoon.  Yovani Gallardo (8-8, 4.58 ERA) goes for Milwaukee against Edison Volquez (7-8, 5.73 ERA) of the Padres.  First pitch from Miller Park is 1:10.
