The Milwaukee Brewers recorded their 4th shutout in six games against the Atlanta

Braves this season. Kyle Lohse needed just 89 pitches to blank the Braves on 2-hits in a 4-0 win at Turner Field. Lohse went the distance for the second time in his last three starts, finishing the 2013 campaign with his best performance of the season.
Lohse retired 20-straight hitters at one point last night and earned a $350,000 bonus two batters into his night by striking out Justin Upton looking in the first inning to reach 190 innings on the season.

Lohse finished the season with a 11-10 record and a 3.35 ERA, working 198 1/3 innings in his first year with the club.
One out into the game, Carlos Gomez hit a solo home run off of Paul Maholm. Gomez stood at the plate and admired his blast before starting a slow jog to first while yelling at the Braves pitcher.
As Gomez hit first base, he exchanged words with Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman. He eventually rounded the bases and headed for home when Braves catcher Brian McCann stopped him about 20 feet short of home plate and started yelling at Gomez. That’s when both benches and bullpens cleared.
Once order was eventually restored, Gomez, Freeman and Braves backup catcher Gerald Laird were ejected for their roles in the incident.
Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez was also forced to leave after injuring his sore knee during the bench clearing incident.
The Brewers head to New York to face the Mets in the final series of the season. It’s a 4-game set at Citi Field. The Brewers sent rookie right hander Johnny Hellweg (1-4, 7.43) to the mound against the Mets Dillon Gee (12-10, 3.54).
