Braden Looper Milwaukee Brewers right hander Braden Looper (pictured) could start the season on the disabled list.  Looper suffered tightness in his left oblique while warming up in the bullpen last weekend.  He thinks he hurt himself while sneezing a few days earlier.  Brewers medical personnel are taking a conservative approach with Looper and may not throw him for 10 to 12 days, meaning he may not be ready to start the regular season in the starting rotation.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting today on their Brewers blog that reliever Eric Gagne has come up with a sore shoulder and his chances of claiming a spot in the Brewers bullpen are in jeopardy.  Brewers medical personnel are recommending that Gagne be sat down for awhile and there is no timetable for his return to action.

Right handed pitcher Yovani Gallardo agreed to a contract for 2009 this morning, becoming the last player on the 40 man roster to sign.  Gallardo is pitching for the Brewers this afternoon.
