The Wisconsin Lottery set a new record for ticket sold over the past year, with $547.4 million in sales during the last fiscal year that ended on June 30th. The numbers shattered the previous record of about $519 million set in 1995.

Lottery Director Mike Edmonds says those sales generated an estimated $150 million in property tax relief for Wisconsin homeowners. Players won more than $250 million.

Instant tickets were among the biggest sellers, racking up a record $322 million. Other factors included the increase of Powerball ticket prices to $2 and a 29 percent jump in Mega Millions sales brought on by the $650 million jackpot in March.
