Madison man is facing multiple charges, after prosecutors say he threatened a judge.
The state Department of Justice says George Bennett is facing charges for leaving a series of threatening and harassing voicemails for Dane County Circuit Judge Rhonda Lanford’s, after the judge ruled against him earlier this month in a small claims case.
According to the criminal complaint, the 55-year-old Madison man left a series of four lengthy voice-mails on Lanford’s office line between June 13th and June 15th. In the messages, he accuses the judge of allowing perjury in her courtroom and refers to her as an “evil, wicked woman” and telling her that “God is going to punish you bad.”
Bennett is also facing charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm, after Madison Police found a gun in his home while executing a search warrant.
