Property tax bills coming out in December will get some help from Wisconsin Lottery players. Mike Birkley with Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Incorporated says this year's lottery tax credit is expected to be about $99, compared to $82 last year. Birkley says homeowners will welcome that, even though the credit has never lived up to expectations set when the lottery was legalized nearly two decades ago.
The credit is up because more people did play the lottery this year, with heavy ticket sales from two Powerball jackpots that reached $300 million.
