A double dose of winter weather is hitting Wisconsin. Meteorologist Ashley Sears with the National Weather Service in Sullivan says the first wave is beginning today. The southern areas can expect 5-to-7 inches of snow, the northern areas one-to-three inches, with a little heavier around Lake Superior. Anywhere near Lake Michigan will be heavier snow compared to inland.

With the second wave, starting Tuesday night, southeast Wisconsin could get 15-to-20 inches and just a couple of inches will fall up north.

With both storms expect it to be more severe the closer you are to Lake Michigan. The snow is moving from the Rockies through much of the Plains and the Midwest before heading to the East Coast.
