A central Wisconsin man is charged with the brutal beating of his elderly stepfather.
A Plover man was in court Tuesday, charged with beating his 77-year-old stepfather with a baseball bat. Andrew Pray, 32, was arrested Monday at a residence on Cedar Drive in Plover, just south of Stevens Point. The complaint says Pray struck the man multiple times in the head and body with the bat. Officers found the severely-injured victim lying in his own blood, face down.
Pray was living with his mother and stepfather at that residence. She tried to call for help, but had to call from the neighbor’s place.
The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition, and may not survive.
Pray made an appearance in Portage County court for a bond hearing, where Judge John Finn ordered a $250,000 cash bond, and no contact with his family. He will be back in court June 9th.
