A Wauwatosa man is charged in Racine County with child abuse for alleged misconduct while supervising therapy for a three-year old boy with severe autism.
Stephen Jacobs, 27, was employed by a company called Autism Intervention Milwaukee, which told the child’s parents he was not responding to treatment. They set up a web cam, and the Racine County DA’s office says video showed Jacobs hitting the boy numerous times, including head butts and elbows to the face.
The criminal complaint has Jacobs admitting he was studying for a college exam one time instead of doing therapy, but did nothing to intentionally harm the boy. Jacobs is back in court January 8th. The maximum penalty with conviction is 12 1/2 years in prison.
