A Minnesota man will spend a year-and-a-half on probation for firing 22 shots at his mother’s western Wisconsin home, believing that clowns were attacking the place. Archie Stone of St. Paul pleaded guilty in St. Croix County court this week to five misdemeanor charges that included endangering safety. A judge ordered Stone to undergo a psychiatric exam and perform 60 hours of community service. He shot up his mother’s house in Roberts in July, and shot at his parents’ car as they fled. Stone’s father said his 40 year-old son had beer and medications, and then hallucinated about imaginary people coming after him. Stone told law enforcement that he was shooting at clowns who were going after his mother’s home, and he shot dogs that were attacking him. Stone also claimed that his mother was killed in the incident, although in fact no one was hurt.
