The search is over for a missing Marshfield man who shot at police in Rothschild during a traffic stop last weekend. Officers stopped 22-year-old Errol Demmerly for a routine traffic stop early Sunday morning. He shot at police, they shot back, he drove off and they later stopped him with stop sticks. And again Demmerly opened fire at police as he fled on foot. Police thought Demmerly was wounded because they found bloodstains in his truck. They searched for him for four days – scouring Rothschild and the Wisconsin River, but finding no sign of him. Someone tipped police off that Demmerly was staying in Marshfield and authorities arrested him without incident outside a home there Wednesday. Demmerly is being treated for his injuries at St. Joseph's Hospital and will be released to Rothschild police.
