Authorities in Marinette County have identified the two men killed in a pair of shootings earlier this week. 26-year old Tyler Walk of Marinette and 76-year old Manfred Eisenheim of Pound were both killed, following a chain of events that started late Monday evening in the Town of Pound.

Walk was found in his vehicle with a gunshot wound, after reporting an armed suspicious person in his family’s cabin. He later died at a Green Bay hospital. Eisenheim, who police say shot Walk, was later located in a vehicle in the immediate area and was then shot and killed by officers after he pointed a firearm at them.

Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says there are some indications that Eisenheim suffered from mental illness, although he did not elaborate on the specifics of what the investigation has uncovered.

Marinette County Sheriff’s Deputies Robert Amundson, Jesse Parker, and Steven Schmidt were involved in the shooting of Eisenheim. All have been placed on administrative leave until the investigation into the shooting is concluded.

Officials have scheduled a press conference this afternoon regarding the ongoing investigation.
