According to the New York Times, Milwaukee Brewers owner MarkAttanasio , Boston owner Tom Werner and Tampa Bay Rays owner Stuart Sternberg are the three owners that have been interviewed by a search committee, tasked with finding Major League Baseball’s next commissioner.

Attanasio took over ownership of the Brewers in 2005.

Attanasio reportedly isn’t a finalist for the position.  Werner, as well as a pair of MLB vice presidents, Rob Manfred and Tim Bronson are said to be finalists, with a vote scheduled to take place next week at the owners’ quarterly meetings in Baltimore.

Bud Selig is retiring next January after 22 years on the job.  Selig reportedly wants Manfred to succeed him, but at least one owner, Jerry Reinsdorf (Chicago White Sox) is against hiring Manfred for the job.
