The Marquette Golden Eagles trailed for most of the game but rebounded to knock off New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) 62-57 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Monday night.
Redshirt freshman Duane Wilson earned his first start of the season, scoring 18 points and Juan Anderson led all scorers with 20 points and nine rebounds.
NJIT shot 61% from the field in the first half, but the Golden Eagles tightened the screws in the second half, holding the Highlanders to 24.2% after the break.
Marquette improved to 3-2 with the win. They’ll face Georgia Tech in the opening round of the Orlando Classic starting Thanksgiving night.
