Freshman forward Lazar Hayward scored a career high 18 points to help the Marquette Golden Eagles end a 3-game Big East losing streak, pulling out a 80-67 win over Villanova at the Bradley Center.

Dominic James also added 18 points and Wesley Matthews 16 points to help lead Marquette (22-7, 9-6 Big East) to the win.

Marquette turned its struggles at the free throw line around, hitting 31 of 35 free throws, good for 88.6%.  That effort comes after a 62.5% effort against Louisville in a loss on Saturday night.  For the season, the Golden Eagles have struggled at the line as well, shooting just 65%.
