The Marquette Golden Eagles got 18 points from Davante Gardner and 10 points from Chris Otule in a 64-53 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Marquette shot just 33% in the first half and 42% for the game and found themselves playing a much tighter game then they would have liked.
It’s the same Southeastern Louisiana squad that lost by 40 points to the Badgers on Sunday in Madison.
It’s the second straight strong performance for the Golden Eagles two top post players. Gardner had 14 points and six rebounds, while Otule added 11 points in the season opening win over Colgate.
Next up for Marquette is the Maui Invitational. They’ll face Butler on Monday in Hawaii.
