The last time Marquette made it past the round of 32 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was in 2003 when they made it all the way to the Final Four. Last night the Golden Eagles punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 with a 66-62 win over Syracuse.
Darius Johnson-Odom was the hero. He led Marquette with 17-points including a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 27 seconds left. Odom believes his team belongs with the best in the land:
