Marathon County sheriff’s officials are reporting a major drug bust. Deputies say one person in under arrest and more charges are pending after a suspicious package was intercepted by a local delivery company.

A K9 unit was dispatched to investigate and the dog alerted to drugs inside. A search warrant was executed on Steuben Street in Wausau. Inside, officers found over two kilograms of processed marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash. They also arrested the occupant Bryan Arnold on drug charges.

Arnold made his initial appearance Monday in Marathon County Court on six felony drug counts including manufacturing marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking place. Arnold is being held on a $25,000 bond in the Marathon County jail and will be back for his preliminary hearing February 19th.

Deputies also had probable cause to search a home in rural Athens where a pot grow was in place. Officers seized over 700 marijuana plants, another 1400 grams of processed marijuana and the equipment used to grow the plants. Deputies estimate the value of the entire seizure at around $2 million. Charges are now pending for the owners of that home as well.
