Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews has gone without a tackle over the last two games.  He was credited with only a single quarterback hit in two games against Oakland and Arizona.

Matthews played 48 defensive snaps against Arizona last week and got time both at inside linebacker and on the outside as an edge rusher.  statistically, he had nothing to show for it.

“I need to find a way to be more impactful,” said Matthews. “It’s not for a lack of not being where I’m supposed to and not doing my job.  It’s just playmakers have to continue to show up.”

The coaches believe Matthews is being impactful even if it doesn’t show up in the stat column.  When Matthews is flying around, he attracts the most attention from an opposing offense and frees up the players around him.

Matthews enters Sunday’s regular season finale against the Vikings ranked third on the team in tackles with 63, to go along with 5 1/2 sacks.
