Wisconsin defenseman Jamie McBain is the WCHA's Rookie of the Week, helping the Badgers to a pair of victories over Alaska-Anchorage at the Kohl Center in Madison last weekend.
The 6-2 freshman from Faribault, Minnesota, scored one goal and set up two others in the 2-game sweep.
A draft choice of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, McBain was a member of the 2007 U.S. National Junior Team and ranks fifth in scoring this season among his Wisconsin teammates with three goals, 11 assists and 14 points in 25 games played.
