Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy made four seperate coaching moves on Monday.
The Packers coach promoted Joe Philbin to offensive coordinator, Winston Moss to assistant head coach/defense, James Campen to offensive line coach and Jerry Fontenot to assistant offensive line coach.
The 45 year old Philbin replaces Jeff Jagodzinski who took the new head coaching job at Boston College. He headed up the Packers offensive line last season.
The 41 year old Moss becomes one of many assistant head coaches throughout the NFL. Last season, 24 of 31 other NFL clubs listed such a position on their coaching staffs.
Campen, a former Packers center, served as an assistant each of the last three seasons in Green Bay.
The 40 year old Fontenot also contributed to the success of that young offensive line. A coaching intern this past summer, the club retained him for the duration of the season as an offensive line assistant. Fontenot played 239 NFL games over 16 seasons with the Bears, Saints and Bengals.
